This is a spiritual and literary classic that I have started to read several times over the past few years, but for one reason or another, put it aside and then forgot to take it up again.  Perhaps because I tend to savor certain books, rich with meaning, eloquence and insight, and can’t rush my reading through it (unlike others, which I can devour quickly), that I find myself reading it in phases, sometimes even taking years!  In the last few months, Saint Augustine has called to me loudly to reflect upon his Confessions — feel free to join me in conversation or just read along as I journey and discover new ways to understand the truths that are part of our shared human existence, even though our lives may be hundreds of years apart . . .
