Dear Lord Jesus,

As I contemplate the blessed Feast of Your Ascension into Heaven this week, please grant me the grace of remembering to look up from the things that keep my eyes distracted from my most important tasks as a mother — like the disciples gazing into the heavens, holding on to the very last discernible image of Christ — much like wanting to hold onto the quickly fading image of a rainbow which we want to keep seeing because it is so stunning, so beautiful — help me to always long for the sight of You and have my eyes open to see You in others — especially through today’s opportunities to teach, serve and love  my children!
