Our lives are influenced by seasons. No matter where we live, the orbit of the sun and the rotation of the earth work in conjunction to effect seasonal change. These seasonal changes, no matter how slight, serve to remind us of the passage of time; the ways in which we are called to shift our lives and our daily practices in order to live harmoniously with the effects of the change in seasons. Liturgical living is an even more powerful reminder and opportunity for us as a Catholic family, to live our Christian faith in harmony with our universal church — on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis. How wonderful that God provides us with such powerful resources through the liturgical calendar!

Today, February 2nd, is a wonderful feast day in our liturgical year — actually two feasts are celebrated today — the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus and the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
